FRAMINGHAM – Police are warning the public of a parking meter scan, that steals your money and your data.

“Fraudulent QR code stickers are being placed on public parking meters as a ‘quick pay’ option. When the unsuspecting victim utilizes this payment option they are taken to a fraudulent website where their personal data is stolen,” said Police in a social media post.

The City of Framingham does not use QR codes.
