HOLLISTON – Janice Marie Orlando, 84 of Holliston passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, after a period of declining health. 

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Amey) Hunt. 

Janice grew up in Ashland and worked for many years as a waitress at the Union House in Framingham.

After many years waitressing she decided to go to College.

She attended Holliston Jr college where she earned her associates degree in business management.

She worked for the Town of Framingham, Prime Computer and would later work in student services and the payroll department of Mass Bay Community College before retirement. Janice worked hard throughout her life for herself and for her family. Janice was active with the Framingham Eagles Club.

She enjoyed playing cards with her many friends especially, with her cole’s court friends. She enjoyed going to the casino, taking long rides anywhere, vacations with her family, lunch dates with her friends, shopping, doing jigsaw puzzles, celebrating holidays (Christmas being her favorite) and spending time with her family. Janice could always be found with a diet coke in hand.

She is survived by seven children; Eric French of Framingham, Edward French of Spokane, WA, Richard Cote of FL, Terri Beaton of Ashland, Vicki Cataldo of Holliston, Gary Cote of Oakham, MA, and Michelle Gschwender of Las Vegas, NV, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren with two more due soon and one sister Lorraine Macdonald of FL. Janice truly loved her family. Always wanting to spend time with them. She was always so proud of them.

A funeral service will be held Saturday Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holliston Senior Center Gift Fund, 150 Goulding St. Holliston, MA  01746
