MARLBOROUGH – Marlborough Public Schools reported 185 COVID cases in the school district between December 23, 2021 and January 5, 2022

The district reported 144 positive students and 41 positive staff to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education

Students were on holiday break until Monday, January 3, 2022

In the last 14 days, the City of Marlborough reported 1,252 new COVID cases, according to Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The rate of positivity over the last 14 days was at 19%

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there has been more than 7,500 COVID cases – 7,779 to be exact.

Neighboring Framingham has had a surge of COVID cases since Thanksgiving. It has 12,320 cases since the pandemic began.

The Mayor and the Superintendent of Schools announced a 2-week pause on indoor group activities in the City starting today.

That means Loring Arena is closed, and no sports at Framingham High School. Framingham High’s In the Heights musical has been postponed from MLK Jr. weekend to the first weekend in February.
