1 Today is the anniversary of the insurrection at the Capitol in Washington DC in 2021. A vigil will be held tonight at 6 in downtown Framingham. All are welcome to attend.

2. The Framingham School Committee elected new leadership last night. For the first-time ever the School Committee will be lead by a woman of color. District 5 School Committee member Priscila Sousa was elected chair in a 8-0-1 vote.

District 8 School Committee member Jessica Barnhill was elected vice chair in a 9-0 vote.

District 2 School Committee member Ricky Finlay was elected clerk in a 5-4 vote. District 9 School Committee member William LaBarge received 4 votes.

3. City of Framingham meetings:

  • Framingham Planning Board at 7 p.m.

4. The Mayor and the Superintendent of the Framingham Public Schools announced a 2-week pause on all indoor group activities last night, due to a surge in COVID cases in the City. There are now more than 1,700 active cases.

5. That pause means Framingham High’s production of In the Heights now moves to February.
