FRAMINGHAM – Amy Jean Casavant, 45, of Framingham, passed away after a long struggle and complications associated with Type 1 Diabetes on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

She is the daughter of Debbie Barnicle of Framingham and the late Philip Casavant of Framingham. Amy is survived by her daughter, Aubrey Casavant. Nothing equaled the love that she had for her bright, beautiful daughter. Aubrey was the light in Amy’s eyes and the joy in her heart. The love they shared was unmatched and every moment they spent together was precious.

Amy is also survived by Dennis DeCosta of Framingham, her long-time partner and father of their daughter Aubrey, her brother Sean Casavant and his wife Angela and their three children of Marlborough, her aunt Mary Loesch of Palm City, Florida and several loving friends and family members.

Amy was a graduate of Framingham High School class of 1995 and worked as a hair stylist for several years. Amy loved life, her family, and recently had been attending Connect Church in Ashland. Amy was truly happy with God in her life.

For those who were blessed to know Amy, you know that she was a gracious, welcoming, generous person who cared deeply for others. She was a kind, free spirit who brought sunshine into any room. She had a magnetic energy and infectious laugh. Amy gave everyone a chance and treasured the unique connections she had with her life-long friends. Throughout the ups and downs in her life, she remained spiritual and maintained unwavering faith and dedication to her loved ones. She was inspired by countless things including her many art projects, journaling, proudly donning her unique, funky style, and her love of listening to a variety of music genres; shamelessly singing along loud and proud to classic rock and cheesy hair bands even if she was the only one.

Most of all she loved making memories with her friends and family, especially Aubrey. Amy is going to be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Ave.) in Framingham on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Amy may be made to a Gofundme (https://gofund.me/e95e4dc7) fundraiser to help the family with funeral expenses, unexpected bills, and to hopefully ease some of the stress during this difficult time.

Donations are also welcome in memory of Amy to The Barton Center for Diabetes Education, Inc.; (https://www.bartoncenter.org/); an organization that runs a camp for children with Type I Diabetes.
