Allen Focuses on Housing, Jobs, Education, & Climate in Gubernatorial Campaign

BOSTON – Just seven months into her historic campaign to become Massachusetts’ first woman governor and the first Black woman governor in U.S. history, nonprofit leader Danielle Allen has notched key successes heading into election year — thanks to her fundraising dominance and statewide grassroots organizing momentum.

With over $1 million raised, in-person visits to more than 50 communities across the Commonwealth, bold and extensive policy strategies on key progressive issues, and endorsements from leading national PACs, Allen is on strong footing to continue carrying her message of transformation and hope across the Commonwealth in 2022.

Among candidates who joined the race this year, Allen has led the field in fundraising from the very beginning of her campaign and continues to widen that margin. Earlier this month, the Allen campaign announced that it had raised over $1 million to power its push for a green and healthy next-generation democracy in Massachusetts — breaking recent records for Democratic candidates at this stage in the game. As the fundraising calendar resets with the New Year, Allen continues to outperform historic precedents and maintain the lead she has held since June.

Allen has also led a powerful grassroots organizing push that has seen her engage with over 100 communities from Williamstown to Yarmouth — including 50-plus in-person visits, 46 Democratic Town/City Committee events, and 19 listening sessions — to hear from community members across our diverse Commonwealth.

Drawing on these conversations with voters and issue experts, Allen has formulated four major transformative policy agendas which will shape the focus of an Allen administration and form the foundation of a green and healthy next-generation democracy in our Commonwealth. These agendas focus on Housing, Good Jobs, Education, and Climate, with further policy agendas to be rolled out in the New Year.

Allen has also received endorsements from both The Collective PAC and Higher Heights, two of the country’s leading political action committees dedicated to inclusive representation at all levels of government. In addition, over 50 key Massachusetts Democrats have endorsed Allen’s gubernatorial bid, including Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui; First Lady Cynthia Swan; Democratic State Committeewoman Doryce Smith; Democratic State Committeewoman Nazda Alam; and President of the College Dems of MA Ted Park.
