BOSTON – Minimum wage will increase 75 cents on January 1 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The current rate of $13.50 an hour increases to $14.25 on January 1, 2022, and it will increase to $15 an hour in 2023.

The new $14.25 an hour wage translates to $29,640 a year for someone working 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.

The federal minimum wage is still at $7.25 an hour. It has not increased since 2009.
