1 Today is the last day of school in 2021.

There has been a surge of COVID cases in the public school district since Thanksgiving.

2. COVID cases increased by 53% over the last week in Framingham. There are now 660 active cases in the City.

3. The City will allow residents to register for free Rapid COVID-19 test kits starting today at 1 p.m. The kits will not be distributed however until December 30 or January 8.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts supplied the 10,000 kits to the City of Framinghm to help stop the surge of COVID cases near the holidays.

Lowell distributed their kits over the weekend. Boston has been delivering their kits all week. Communities like Salem, Brockton, Everett also distributed the kits before Christmas.

4. According to the Mayor’s publicly posted schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has no public events today.

City Hall is closed on Friday, December 24.

  • Boys and girls indoor track teams will compete today at 5 p.m. against Wellesley at Boston University.
  • The boys basketball team is scheduled to have its home opener tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Natick High
