FRAMINGHAM – More than 1,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the 26th Annual Turkey Classic 5K road race on Thanksgiving morning, November 25.

The race starts and ends at the Memorial Building.

Start is at 8 a.m. and it is expected to be sunny but cold – near freezing at 33 degrees.

Today, hundreds of runners and walkers picked up their bib number, a t-shirt, and a Talk Talk pie.

Participants also dropped off turkeys at the early pick up event at the Framingham Elks.

The turkeys will be donated to Project New Hope https://www.projectnewhopema.org/, a New England based, military affiliated veteran’s organization that supports veterans and their families, said Framingham Police Lt. Robert Downing.

Registration for the race closed on November 12. There is NO same day registration.

The Turkey Classic organized by the Framingham Firefighters and the Framingham Police Officers, raises funds for Veterans Outreach Center-Metrowest and other local charities.
