FRAMINGHAM – Shirley (Byerly) Livingstone, 86, a longtime resident of Framingham, died suddenly, November 21, 2021.

Born in Pansy, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Melda (Brosius) Byerly.

Raised and educated in Stanton, PA, Shirley attended college in Erie, PA. She met the love of her life Jim, they married and started their family.  Shirley and Jim settled in Framingham in 1970.

Smart, kind, and a gentle woman, Shirley was an accomplished organist applying her talents with her faith, she was for many years the organist at St. Jeremiah and St. George Parishes in Framingham, St. Patrick’s Manor and Carmel Terrace, and played at many weddings and funerals over the years.  She taught private lessons to many local children, and when she was out of the house enjoyed playing a good tennis match.

Shirley was a wife and mother first, and besides her beloved husband James of 67 years, she is survived by her children, Gregory & his wife Virginia of Wayland, Gavin & his wife Catherine of Berlin,  Tracey Welch & her husband Stephen of Framingham,  Shelley Pacitto of Medway, Jodie Marchese & her husband Peter of Franklin, and Gordon & his wife Jill of Canton, MI, her cherished grandchildren, Stacey & her husband Hugh Burkhart,  Garin & his wife Anna, Jaclyn Gilchrist & her husband Brendon, Khadijah Faulkner Cisse, Rachel Pacitto, Joseph Pacitto, Craig Pacitto, Melissa Marchese, Kimberly Marchese, Veronica & her fiancé Alex Hanes, Kyle & his wife Jessica, and Kevin, her dear great grandchildren, Raymond Burkhart, Caleb Gilchrist, Simon Faulkner, Loren Faulkner, Karim Cisse, Hamza Cisse, Zayna Cisse, and Isaka Cisse, her brothers, Charles Byerly & his wife Kathryn, and Marlin Byerly & his wife Sherry, her sister, Ruby Darr & her late husband Donald Darr, her uncle, Jay Byerly, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Shirley’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Sunday, November 28 from 1-5 p.m.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. George Church, 74 School Street in Saxonville on Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Shirley’s name to: St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St. Framingham, or the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. George Church.
