FRAMINGHAM – For the second year, Team New England MetroWest and Hoops & Homework partnered to give away 50-plus turkeys in Framingham.

The distribution took place over the weekend.

Nate Martino said volunteers included: Team New England MetroWest members, Stokely Beckford, Tania Calder, Naz Chris Leveille, David Martino, Kerry Dunne, Maggie Steiner, Kevin Lopez, Zack Skowronek, Sanaii Diaz, and Isaiah Davis.

The event was organized with Hoops and Homework Director Kevin Lopez.

Team New England MetroWest “emphasizes the importance of being able to give back to our community,” said Martino.

TEAM New England is a youth development organization that employs academic, mentoring, athletic, and service learning programming that positively impacts the development of the youth in our community. The organization strives to use basketball as a way to bring student athletes out of their comfort zones, provide a safe haven for at-risk youth, expose the community to high academic institutions, and offer experiences our youth would otherwise not have. TEAM New England was founded in 2016 by Greg Hill and Isaiah Davis.

Hoops & Homework is afterschool program in Framingham and a 501c3 organization. The program was launched in 2012 by a group, led by Framingham resident Herb Chasan.
