FRAMINGHAM – Framingham junior Sam Burgess won the cross-country state championship today, November 20, in Wrentham.

The winning time was 15:07.5 minutes.

Needham’s Kyle McNatt was second in 15:14,9 minutes with St John Prep runner Nathan Lopez third in 15:23.1 minutes.

Earlier this month, Burgess broke the course record when he won the Division 1 State title.

But the course record fell today, when the Division III champion was crowned. Uxbridge’s Aidan Ross won that title in 14:47.2. That time is one of the 30 best in the Country this season.

The top 50 times in the country are all under 15 minutes.

Ross’ time is the fastest in the state this season.

Burgess time at the Division 1 meet at 15:05.2 is the second fastest in the state this season.
