MARLBOROUGH – Arnalda “Ann” (Miele) Cross, 92, of Marlborough died suddenly at her home Tuesday November 16, 2021.

She was the wife of the late William F. Cross who died October 28, 2000.

She was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Dominic J. and Annunziata (Metta) Miele.

Ann was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 1947 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Burdett College in Boston.

She also attended the Boston Conservatory of Music.

Ann was proud of her many years as an administrative assistant and human resource rep at Digital Equipment Corporation. 

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and an active volunteer at Our Father’s Table.

Ann was an avid gardener and took care of her own house and yard until the age of 90. She really enjoyed reading and constantly made trips back and forth to the Marlborough Public Library.

Never did a day go by without her walking through the neighborhood or Ghiloni Park with her beloved dogs, Toby and Riley. Ann was compassionate and caring, making friends with everyone she met!

She leaves her son William F. Cross, Jr. and his wife Jackie of Northborough; her daughter Nancy A. Cross, and her best friend Richard J. Trubey of Northbridge; two brothers, Francis Miele (Patty) of Marlborough and Dominic Miele (Karen) of Bellingham; two grandchildren, Allison Anastasiadis (George) of Roslindale and Daniel Cross (Kate) of Kingston RI; two great grandchildren, Stavros and Yianni both of Roslindale; she was predeceased by her siblings, Carlo, Joseph, Arnold, Rena and Ann Marie.

A graveside service will be held Monday November 22 at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.

Calling hours will be held Sunday November 21 from 4-6 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home (www.collinsfuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.

Flowers may be sent or donations may be made in Ann’s memory to the World Wildlife Fund. 

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
