FRAMINGHAM – Margaret A. Haggerty, 98, of Framingham, died, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Spillane) Haggerty.

She attended the Framingham schools graduating from high school in 1941. She then attended Wilfred Academy in Boston and became a registered cosmetologist.

For many years she had her salon on Union Avenue. She then attended Fitchburg State University and received her credentials to teach hairdressing at Keefe Technical School in Framingham until her retirement.

Margaret was an active member of the Framingham Catholic Women’s Club and a member of St. Bridget’s Sodality.

After retiring, she and her sister Catherine moved to Osterville on Cape Cod. Margaret became an active member of Osterville Garden Club also a volunteer at the Hyannis Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and traveling to Europe and Panama Canal as well as crossing the United States.

She was a devoted sister to her predeceased siblings Mary, Thomas, John, Helen, Edward, Philip, and Catherine.  She was a loving aunt to eighteen nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visitation at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9 to 9;30 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass at St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Road in Framingham, at 10 a.m.

Burial will take place in St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mt. Wayte Ave., Framingham MA 01702
