FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham City Clerk Lisa Ferguson certified the November 2, 2021, City of Framingham election results today, November 16.

The election was held 2 weeks ago, but the results were not certified until today, due a recount.

“We are pleased with the process. It went smoothly, and we appreciate everyone’s contribution. The recount today for District 3 City Councilor resulted in a failure to elect. The November 2, 2021, election results are now official,” said City Clerk Ferguson, in a statement issued by City of Framingham Chief Information Officer Kelly McFalls.

The District 3 City Council race, after the recount, ended in a 997-997 tie.

Adam Steiner or Mary Kate Feeney can file with Massachusetts Superior Court to challenge the results.

If no challenge is filed, a special election will be held for the City Council seat.
