ASHLAMD – Donald C. Smith, 91, of Ashland passed away Monday October 25, 2021, after a period of declining health. 

Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Carey) Smith Sr. 

He was the husband of Vivian (Chase) Smith for 48 years. 

A graduate of Classical High School, Donald served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. 

He would later graduate from Worcester Jr College Class of 1964. 

Mr. Smith worked as a Mechanical Designer in the pulp and paper industry for many years; working at CT Main Engineering Co. and Stone & Webster Engineering Co. retiring in the early 1980’s. 

He was a member of the American Legion Post 77 and Ashland VFW Post 2331.

He is survived by his loving wife Vivian (Chase) Smith of Ashland and was the brother of the late Charles F. Smith Jr. 

Services are private.  Donations in Donald’s name may be made to Baypath Humane Society, 500 Legacy Farms N, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
