The Business Leader of the Year award is given to recognize the specific leadership
achievements of a MetroWest Business Leader who demonstrates effective leadership and civic
involvement as hallmarks of the success enjoyed by their company.
The Small Business of the Year Award traditionally is given to recognize the important
contributions made by small businesses to the creation of new jobs and economic
opportunities, as well as community involvement in MetroWest.
The Chamber is always pleased to award the Non-Profit Partner of the Year to an organization
committed to building and inspiring the MetroWest Region. Recognizing the contributions
made by these organizations strengthens our community.

The Chamber will be honoring an Emerging Leader. Characterized as someone who is making
an impact both professionally and personally in the MetroWest Region, the emerging leader is
defined as someone with great potential for leadership and community service.
The Peter Barbieri ‘Service Above Self’ is awarded each year either to an individual or institution
where service was provided first before thinking of oneself or the institution. The award is
named for Peter Barbieri who served on the Chamber in varying roles for 27 years. Peter gave
selflessly during his tenure.
In addition, the Chamber will honor its Member Engagement Team Member of the Year. This
individual is selected based upon a long-term commitment to sustainable growth at the
Chamber. It recognizes the positive impact of our team member’s outreach to other chamber
members, yielding a stronger membership base.
