FRAMINGHAM – Pearl Rita “Red” (Travis) Nicolo, 97, a former longtime resident of Framingham and Ashland, died, Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of 70 years to the late Dominic Nicolo who died in 2019.  

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Blanche (Goodwin) Travis.

She was a graduate of Framingham High School with the class of 1942.

She worked for 29 years for Dennison Mfg. Co. in Framingham, and 18 years for the Mindess School Cafeteria in Ashland, before retiring in 1987.

Pearl was a great cook, an avid Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins fan, loved and cherished her family, and helping with her husband’s vegetable and flower garden. She was active in the senior citizens groups in Ashland.

She is survived by her cherished daughter, Diane Jollymore of Ashland and a stepson, Willeam Pisters of Netherlands; grandchildren, Bradley Jollymore, Jr. and his wife Jessica, and Matthew Jollymore and his wife Melvina; two great grandsons and one great granddaughter; nieces, Joyce Pisters of Netherlands. She is also survived by sister-in-law Pat Travis of Framingham, wife of her late brother Robert K. Travis, Jr.

She had a close and Cherished friend, the late Pauline (McKay) Cyr of Natick. A childhood friend, her maid of honor when married and her daughter’s godmother, and she dearly missed her everyday chats with her.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral service at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. Face coverings are optional within the funeral home.

Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.

Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 4-7 p.m.
