FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls soccer team defeated Boston Latin High 2-0 on Saturday, October 23.

Fifteen minutes into the game, Brooke Haarala scored the game-winning goal off a direct kick taken by Gabby Arpino. The Goalie pushed the shot up hitting the crossbar and then got her hands on the deflection and punched the ball up again only to hit the crossbar again. Haarala chests the ball as it came down from the crossbar into the net.

With 20 minutes left in the game Kat Miller scored the Flyers second goal. Kylie Chagnon drown down the left side and launched a shot that the goalies wasn’t able to capture, giving Miller the opportunity to know the rebound into the back of the net.

This was Lilly Vermilya’s eighth shut out of the season.

Flyers defense with Natalie Kirkpatrick, Sophia Carner, Ali Jones and Madi Jones were strong and consistent the entire game.

Framingham is now 7-5-4 on the season.
