FRAMINGHAM – Ernest Joseph Chiappini, 93, a lifelong resident of Framingham passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Anghinetti) Chiappini.

He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Anne (Haughey) Chiappini for 60 years.

Ernie was a graduate of Framingham High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the Army from 1950-1952.

He would go on to spend his career as co-owner of Master Service Auto Repair Co. in Framingham. He served on the Board of Directors for Framingham Savings Bank and was a member of the Framingham Country Club for the past 70 years.

Mr. Chiappini is survived by four children; Phillip J. Chiappini and his wife Susan of Naples, FL, Marianne Wessels and her husband Phil of Jacksonville, FL, David A Chiappini of Framingham, and Julianne Hanna of Southborough, four grandchildren, Philip Wessels, Kristin Salts, Brooke Hanna, and Keely Hanna, and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Eleanor Bernardi and Dorothea Weatherby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 27 at 10 a.m. in St. Bridget Parish, 832 Worcester Road, Framingham with burial to follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ernie’s memory to the Joanne Sullivan Memorial Fund, 18 Aberdeen Rd. Framingham, MA 01702, to benefit cancer research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
