FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High and Wellesley High girls soccer teams battled to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday. October 20.

Kasey Kopaz scored a header off a corner kick from Ali Jones to tie the game. The Flyers goal came about 10 minutes after the Raiders scored.

The second half was a hard-fought battle. Each team possessed the ball equally and threatened to score, but neither team could get into the net before time ran out.

Flyers goal keeper Lilly Vermilya made a huge save with three minutes left in the game. She leaped high to punch the ball, that hit off the crossbar and quickly deflected in front of the box. And then she quickly bounced on the ball to protect it from the Raiders looking to strike.

Next up for the Flyers is an away game at Newton North High against the Tigers at 6 p.m.
