FRAMINGHAM – Framingham junior Sam Burgess won the Bob McIntyre Twilight Invitational at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds this weekend.

He crossed the finish line in 15:30.8 minutes.

“He’s amazing! Obviously he’s super talented, but his calm and pensive approach to training and racing results in fantastic performances,” said Framingham High cross-country head coach Ed Crowley of Burgess. “In addition, his focus along with this veteran team is now spilling over to everybody else and positively impacting our team culture.” 

Framingham finished 6th overall out of 49 teams.

Cumberland Rhode Island won the team competition. Concord-Carlisle finished in second place with Bay State Conference’s Brookline High third.

There were 365 runners on the course on Saturday night.

Framingham senior Shand Seiffert finished 35th overall in 16:53.7 minutes.

Framingham senior Arnav Singh was third for the Flyers and 59th overall in 17:10.5 minutes

Framingham junior Andrew Hohenstein was fourth for the Flyers abnd 102nd overall in 17:45.5 minutes

Framingham seniors Jordan Spector and Ryan Gaglione finished 160th and 162nd overall.
