FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls soccer team has a 3-game winning streak after defeating Notre Dame Academy of Worcester 1-0 this weekend.

The Flyers commanded the game keeping possession of the ball on Notre Dame’s defensive half and limiting their opponents from crossing into Framingham’s defensive side.

The first and only goal of the game was scored with three minutes left in the first half.

Gabby Arpino was able to get her foot on the ball sliding it into the back of the net off a direct kick taken by Sophia Carney, awarded to the Flyers after Sophia Wendt was fouled.

Framingham High’s offense threatened and pressured Notre Dame the entire second half, but the Notre dame goal made save after save.

Flyers midfielders Arpino, Paige Spodick, Wendt, Lucy Keane, and Fiona Burke did a great job keeping the ball on offense and adding to the Framingham attack.

Goal keeper Lilly Vermilya earned her sixth shut out of the season.

Framingham is now 5-3-3 and will play at home on Tuesday, October 12.
