FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High School is launching a new girls golf program in the spring, and announced today, October 6, the hiring of Framingham High alumni and star golfer Jillian Jones as the head coach.

A native of Framingham and a 2017 graduate of Framingham High School, Jones was a 4-year standout golfer for longtime Golf coach Will Cook. She also was a standout softball player, competed for the Flyers Ski Team, and senior year played ice hockey.

Upon graduation Coach Jones was recruited by Kutztown College for golf where she set the school record for low score and was a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference standout.

After sophomore year Coach Jones transferred to UMass Boston to pursue and complete a degree in criminal justice.

Coach Jones currently works as an anti-money laundering investigator in the financial crimes unit at Santander Bank.

She remains an avid golfer and can be seen showing off her skills at many local courses.

“The Framingham High School Athletic Department is very pleased to have a recent Alum taking over the Golf program at its inception,” said Athletic Director Paul Spear. “Coach Jones’ energy and contagious enthusiasm for the game of golf make her the perfect candidate to bring this program to Framingham High School.  Please join us in welcoming Coach Jillian Jones back home as she brings the game of Women’s Golf to the Framingham High School Community.”
