FRAMINGHAM – Robert Martin Palenchar, 59, of Framingham died Sunday, September 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, on Christmas Day 1961, he was the beloved son of the late John J. & Consuelo (Vera) Palenchar.
Rob was a graduate of Case Western University, earned his Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University, and spent his career working in his field with Dow/Dupont.
He was an outdoorsman who loved traveling, hiking and camping. In 2006, Rob began taking ballroom dance lessons and loved every minute on the dance floor.
A strong and courageous man, Rob endured his 3-year disease, along with the pain and endless treatments that came with it, with a smile on his face and without any complaints. Rob always remained hopeful and optimistic. We will never forget him and his amazing dimples. What a blessing it was to have the support of so many people who loved him.
Rob is survived by his life partner and soulmate, Carol Lanzillo of Framingham; his beloved sons Nick Palenchar of NY and Daniel Palenchar of CA; his brothers Richard Palenchar and his wife Yuki of CA, Steve Palenchar and his wife Clarissa of CA, and Michael Palenchar of TN; his nephews Patrick and Nate Palenchar; and the mother of his sons Teresa Kelly.
Family and friends will honor and remember Rob’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, October 1st from 5-8 PM. The family encourages that masks be worn. Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Rob’s name to the Project Purple, a non-profit organization that creates awareness, supports patients and families affected by pancreatic cancer, and funds research efforts to defeat the disease. 100% of all donations go to patients battling pancreatic cancer via the Patient Aid Fund. https://donate.projectpurple.org/give/336705/#!/donation/checkout.
