FRAMINGHAM – A vehicle crashed into a pole around 1 a.m., knocking down the pole and closing a portion of Route 9 in Framingham, according to the Framingham Deputy Fire Chief.

Route 9 is closed in both directions between Temple Street and Maynard Road this morning, September 25, according to the fire department.

Crews are working to repair the pole and re-open the road, and it is not expected to re-open this morning, said the deputy fire chief.

Best estimate at this time, is that it will re-open after 12:30 p.m., but it could be later.

Several in the neighborhood of the crash lost power, due to the crash & downed pole.

Some residents and stores in the neighborhood are still without power at 9 a.m., including Stop & Shop at Temple Street.

“There was a single car accident at 1151 Worcester Rd around 1 a.m.,” said Framingham spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens. 

Citation was issued, said Lt. Mickens.

No injuries, said Lt. Mickens.

UPDATE: At 2:52 p.m., more than 12 hours after the crash Route 9 is still closed in both directions.
