FRAMINGHAM – I am a Latinx woman, working artist, mother of a Framingham High School student and a longtime Framingham resident. I love my city and strongly believe in reflecting our city’s demographics in the diversity of our elected officials, but I will not vote for Yvonne Spicer even if she were the only choice for mayor.

The School Committee meeting of April 28, 2021 is just one of many examples of how the Mayor lost my confidence, the Committee’s members and that of many parents.

A testament to her inability to lead is the fact that our local representatives and community heroes like State Rep. Maria Robinson, State Rep. Jack Lewis, Nicole Doak, Adam Freudberg, Judith Grove, Herb Chasan and Carlos Valadares will not be supporting her candidacy.

We gave Ms. Spicer the opportunity to be the People’s Mayor and she and her office failed us: By polarizing our city, creating a toxic environment, failing to communicate with the public and creating a fiscal mess, just to name a few problems.

Because of this administration, we lost good employees, and an important department was leaderless during the pandemic.

Now more than ever we need inclusive, honest, team players, innovative leaders who will move our city forward in terms of climate, housing, schools, diversity, and equity.

I believe those leaders are Charlie Sisitsky for Mayor of Framingham and Noval Alexander for District 5.
