ASHLAND – Oswald “Ozzie” Iarussi, 94, of Ashland, died peacefully at his home on Friday, September 10, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born in Roccaraso, Italy on June 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Marco and Louisa (D’Amico) Iarussi, and beloved husband of Mary Ann (Pimentel) Iarussi. Ozzie immigrated to America via Ellis Island at a young age, growing up in Framingham and then settling in Ashland, where he raised his family and spent most of his life.

Ozzie graduated from Framingham High School in 1945, and was drafted by the United States Army in 1946, serving his country honorably.

Ozzie was a master electrician until he retired at the age of 57 to focus on his true passion: family.  Whether it was attending weekly dances with his wife, Mary Ann, playing cribbage, cooking, visiting his cottage on Cape Cod, hosting Soup to Nuts on Ashland Public Access, volunteering at the Ashland Senior Center, or attending mass at St. Cecilia’s Parish, it was always about family.  A true patriarch in every sense of the word, and a devout Catholic, Ozzie will be greatly missed.  Arrivederci.

Ozzie is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Ann (Pimentel) Iarussi; his 12 children: Mark Iarussi and his wife Joanne, Dianne Cairney and her husband Kevin, Paul Iarussi and his wife Maureen, Linda Smith and her late husband Leonard, Susan Shahood and her husband Mark, Ozzie Iarussi and his wife Linda, Mary Tougas and her husband Raymond, Christopher Iarussi and his wife Elaine, David Iarussi and his wife Sandy, Robert Iarussi and his wife Maryann, Nancy Iarussi, Brian Iarussi; 31 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Marco Iarussi and Louise Derro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 16th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 54 Esty Street, Ashland, MA with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland.  There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers donation in Ozzie’s name may be made to the  Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, PO Box 2157, Framingham, MA 01703
