1 Today is election day in the City of Framingham. There is a preliminary election for Mayor and for City Council in District 7 only.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Voters city-wide will choose from 3 candidates for Mayor. The two individuals with the most votes today will move on to the November 2 election. The candidates are Mayor Yvonne Spicer, Charlie Sisitsky, and Carlos Valadares.

In District 7 only (Precincts 13 & 14) voters will vote in a City Council race

There are four candidates. The two individuals with the most voters will appear on the Tuesday, Nov. 2 ballot.

2. The Framingham Council on Aging has a meeting today at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Council will honor its late vice chair Mark Goldman during that meeting. Goldman died on Sunday.

  • Framingham Historic District Commission at 7;30 p.m..

4. According to the Mayor’s publicly posted schedule, she has no public events but she does have campaign events.

  • Framingham boys varsity soccer has an away game today at Newton North at 3:45 p.m. The team is currently 2-0.
  • Girls soccer hosts Newton North at 3:45 p.m. at the high school.
  • Girls swim & dive travels to Newton North for an away meet at 4 p.m.
  • UPDATED: Season opener for Volleyball — away match now at 6 p.m. at Newton North against the Tigers.
  • Field hockey is seeking its first win of the season and will travel to Dover-Sherborn today for a game at 6;30 p.m.
