FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham man, 28, was arrested outside of Tropical Cafe nightclub early Saturday morning, September 11.

An officer was driving by and was flagged down, said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

Police had received a call about an assault outside the establishment, located at 85 Hollis Street, at 12:45 a.m.

At 1:15 a.m. police arrested Brian S. Duarte, 28, of 73 Hollis Street of Framingham.

“Duarte had an altercation with someone outside of the restaurant and pulled a knife out,” according to the police report said Lt. Mickens.

“Duarte began walking away but was stopped by police.  During the arrest Duarte was resisting, and pushed and kicked two officers,” said Lt. Mickens.

Two officers suffered minor injuries, she said.

Duarte was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife), resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, assault & battery on a police officers (two counts) and assault & battery with a dangerous weapon.
