FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Firefighters Union Local 1652 announced this weekend it is endorsing Magda Janus for District 7 City Councilor.

Incumbent City Councilor Margareth Shepard is not seeking re-election. Voters will seek four names for City Council for District 7 on the Tuesday, September 14 ballot.

“Magda will bring fresh ideas to help the citizens of District 7. She will work with the citizens of the district to tackle their concerns. Local 1652 appreciates her no nonsense approach to City politics, and her plan to address safety concerns in the district,” said Andrew Rokes, President Local 1652 Framingham Firefighters.

“I am honored and delighted to be endorsed by Framingham Firefighters IAFF Local 1652. As first responders they risk their lives to save ours, and often see us for the first time on our worst days. Both, their skills and their work are invaluable to the City of Framingham,” said Janus. “As a candidate for City Council in District 7 I look forward to a strong and collaborative relationship with Framingham’s Firefighters’ Union. The least I can do is to have their backs and provide necessary support to allow them to do their jobs successfully. They will always be able to count on my support.”
