FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University men’s cross country team has finished fifth in the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll as voted upon by the seven MASCAC head coaches.

The Rams return Adam Banat (Shrewsbury) who finished with a time of 34:44 over the 8k course in 2019. 

Bridgewater State has been selected by the seven coaches from around the conference as the preseason favorite to repeat as this year’s cross-country champion. The Bears received five first place votes for 34 points. Fitchburg State is second with the final two first place votes for 30 points and landing in the third spot with 29 points is Westfield State.

Sitting in fourth place is Worcester State with 21 points followed by the Rams in the fifth spot with 14 points. Rounding out this year’s preseason poll is Massachusetts Maritime and MCLA in seventh and eighth with 13 and six points, respectively.

The Rams open their season on Friday, September 3, when they travel to Franklin Park in Boston to take on Suffolk University.
