Jacqui Goldberg, Treasurer of the Gridiron Club said “We had a great turn-out at our 1st Annual Cornhole Tournament on Saturday where we sold apparel. We planned to order enough so the kids had an opportunity to stock up before the start of school. We purchased general Flyer gear to include hoodies, dri-fit tees, stainless steel water bottles, and more.”
She also said that kids love to show their school spirit, so why not give them an opportunity to access items sooner than later?
“It may be too soon to think about the holidays, but it’s not too early to think about an upcoming birthday or another occasion,” she said.
On Saturday, August 21st, the FHS Gridiron Club held its First Annual Cornhole Tournament & Fair. The fundraiser was designed to support the FHS football program while involving the community in a family fun event.
The tournament hosted 32 teams with the overall team winning $500 and the runners-up $250.
Each cornhole set was custom-made by Art Coleman with a wrapped logo of a local sponsor placed on top. Banners lined the fences and lawn signs were seen throughout the fields.
If you didn’t have a chance to stop by the tournament, tickets for 2 different raffles continue to be sold.
Raffles will be drawn at the 1st home football game on Saturday, Sept 11th at 1pm at Bowditch Field.
The Ultimate Game Day Raffle is $15/ticket. The prize includes a Yeti Backpack Cooler, (2) Yeti Cooler Cubs, a 10’ x 10’ tent, (2) stadium chairs, and a lawn game. This is a value of $700. Ticket sales are limited to 250 to increase your chances of winning.
The general raffle has over 40 prizes all valued at $25+. There are items such as a customized,
handcrafted Flyers cornhole set, a Bose portable speaker (value $350), gift certificates to local
