FRAMINGHAM – Last Saturday, 261 men and women registered for the first-ever Framingham Police entrance exam.

This was the first City of Framingham entrance exam.

The City recently removed itself from the Civil Service exam to hire police officers, through a home rule petition, required state legislature approval and the Governor’s signature.

The potential future police officers took the 2.5 hour exam at Keefe Technical High School on Saturday August 14.

Of the 261 individuals registered, 84% were male and 16% were female, said Framingham spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

Results of the exam will be available at the end of this month, said Lt. Mickens.

The hiring process includes an entrance exam, and then a physical agility test.

If candidates pass both, there is a “background check and interview,” explained Lt. Mickens.
