FRAMINGHAM – A new stand alone Starbucks complete with a drive thru is getting ready to open up in the Whole Foods Plaza, off Route 9 this month.

The Starbucks was located in a strip mall area in the plaza near Prospect Street, but under the expansion of Whole Foods, is moving to a newly-constructed store with a drive-thru.

The new building is just over 2,000 square feet in size. It will offer 37 indoor seats, 30 patio
seats, and a bench by the entrance that seats an additional 6 customers.

The staff will remain the same as the current store. The menu will be the same, as well.

“We’ll have all the same goodies that we had at the other store,” said Daniel Brennan, who handles licenses for Starbucks, to the Framingham License Commission at its meeting last month.

Inspections by the Framingham fire department, health department, building commissioner, and the public works are all required before the coffee retailer can open.

The Framingham License Commission unanimously approved licenses for the new Starbucks at its July 26 meeting.

The store has set a tentative opening date for Friday, August 13.

The store plans to open with hours of Monday – Friday 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The license approved hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday, but the company hopes that they will receive approval for a 5 a.m. opening time soon.
