FRAMINGHAM – Catherine F. Haggerty, age 99, a longtime resident of Framingham, died, Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

She was born in Framingham, the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Spillane) Haggerty.

She was a graduate of Framingham High School and Framingham State University.

Earned her master’s degree from Boston University, where she was inducted into the Honor Society Pi Lambda Theta.

A teacher in the Framingham School Systems at the Woodrow Wilson, Brook Water and Dunning schools. For several years, she taught at the Jonathan Maynard School where she was a training teacher for the State University students.

She was a member of the St. Bridget Church where she was in Sodality, Alter Society, and the Young at Heart Club. A member of the Historical Society, Framingham Catholic Club, Framingham Alumni Assoc., Massachusetts Teacher Assoc., The Retired Educators Assoc. of Mass, and the Cape Cod Framingham State University Club.

She moved to Osterville, Cape Cod in 1980 where she was active in Our Lady of Assumption Guild, in 2014 she returned to Framingham to live at Carmel Terrace.

She travelled extensively on three continents, enjoyed theatre, reading and gardening. She had a loving relationship with her many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by siblings, Mary, Thomas, John, Helen, Edward, and Philip.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA 01702 on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 1010 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s name may be made to Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mt. Wayte Ave. Framingham, MA 01702.
