DOVER – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Charles River At Dover until Saturday night, July 17.

Today, July 16, at 7:45 a.m., the stage was 5.3 feet. Flood stage is 5.0 feet.

Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecasted

The river is expected to rise to a crest of 5.3 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.

At 5.0 feet, People living along the Charles River should prepare for flooding of low lying areas along the river.

Susceptible locations include low lying areas along Fisher Street in Needham and a small area on the South Natick and Wellesley line along River Street.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
