FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High Athletic Director Paul Spear announced Framingham High Offensive Coordinator Rob Ferrante as its new head football coach today, July 14.

He will replace Ed Mantie, who resigned to become the new head football coach at Boston College High School.

Coach Ferrante has been a physical education teacher with Medford Public Schools since 1992.

Ferrante has been coaching since the start of his career as an educator, most notably as the head girls basketball coach at Melrose High for seven years.

“Rob is a seasoned veteran football coach with a wealth of experience and knowledge,” said Spear, in the announcement. “For the last four years Rob has coached in Framingham and been an integral part of the staff that has made Framingham a well respected competitive program. Rob’s ability as a seasoned educator makes him the right choice to bring a steadying influence to the team in this time of change.”

Ferrante lives in Framingham with his wife Caroline and their two children Sophia and Joe, who will be a senior on the Flyers football team in 2021-2022.
