FRAMINGHAM – Barbara Ann Murphy, 84, of Framingham passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at her home. 

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Wilson) Nolan. 

A resident of Framingham for over 40 years, she was the wife of the late William P. Murphy. 

Barbara is survived by her son, James Murphy and his wife Jennifer of Marshfield, daughter Karen Nicholas of Holliston, her grandchildren, Marissa Murphy and Shaughnna and Jae Nicholas, and her sister-in-law, Claire Donnelly of Hopkinton.  She was the mother of the late William “Billy” Murphy.

Barbara enjoyed reading and will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother.  The Murphy family wishes to thank Care Dimensions Hospice staff and especially nurse Erin V. for their exceptional care of Barbara in her final days.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, 10 a.m. at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street in Natick.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening, 4-7 p.m. at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland

In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd UNIT 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
