NORTON – The National Weather Service in Boston has extended a flash flood watch for Framingham and MetroWest through Friday afternoon, July 9.

Rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected across much of southern New England during late tonight through Friday afternoon.

A swath of higher 3 to 6 inch rainfall is possible within the interior areas, including possibly the MetroWest area.

Across the Watch area, there is the potential for urban and poor drainage flash flooding, as well as the potential for flash flooding of small streams.

If higher rainfall totals of 4 to 6 inches materialize, pockets of more significant flash flooding could occur.
