FRAMINGHAM – Charles LaRosa, of Framingham, age 80, died Wednesday June 23, 2021.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Palmino and Anita (Distaso) LaRosa.

He was the loving husband to Karen (Brittain) LaRosa of Framingham

After surviving a very difficult childhood, Charles was able to move ahead in his life despite all he had been though.

Amazingly, he earned his own way through three challenging college degrees.

Charles LaRosa worked as an engineer after graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical and Structural Engineering where he graduated with high honors.

Once he got his master’s degrees from Boston University in Applied Science, Computer Science Software Engineer and Analysis, and at the University of Lowell in Mathematics and Computer Option, he moved into a new area, designing complex systems software.

As a computer software engineer, Charles worked at Data General, creating an Online Diagnostic Operating System as well as a stand alone Diagnostic Operating System for the Applicon Corporation. Charles was able at these corporations to utilize his computer and math skills to great effect.

Later, Charles transferred his skills to teaching, working as an Adjunct Professor at Mt Ida College, Quincy Colleges, and Framingham State College. where he found real pleasure in teaching college students.

At the request of his family, funeral services will be private, and arrangements are entrusted to the care of Norton Funeral Home 53 Beech Street in Framingham.
