FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Legion team took on the 2020 Legion Champions of Northborough tonight, June 29, at Memorial Field.
Framingham scored in the top of the first inning as David Maude singled and then stole second base. Cody Coleman singled to left field moving Maude to third base before a wild pitch would score Maude.
Northborough came right back in the bottom of the first inning and scored two runs to make the score 2-1.
In the top of the second inning Framingham would put up 6 runs as Joey Tunno (3-4 on the night with 2 Runs) led of with a single followed by base hits by both Tyler Chan (3-3 with 1 RBI, 1 SB and 2 Runs) and Chris Cordani (2-4 on the night). Aidan Kent walked to tie the score 2-2. A Sac fly by David Maude and a single by Max Stevelman would score 2 more runs to increase the lead to 4-2. Cody Coleman (3-3 with a walk and an RBI) would single and move to second on a wild pitch pitch.

Alex Duffy (2-4 HR and 2 RBI) unloaded a home run over the left field fence to increase Framingham’s lead to 7-2.
Both Framingham and Northborough would each score 1 run in the 4th and 5th inning to make the score Framingham 9 Northborough 4 at the end of the 5th inning innings.
Defensively Tunno and Matt Tichnor made great defensive plays to help the Framingham Legion win their 4 game of the season.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Northborough would score 2 runs as Framingham picked up the win with a final score of 10-6.
Framingham Starter Stevelman (1-0) pitched into the fourth inning to pick up the win. Maude would finish out the next 3 innings for the save with 4 Ks.
Framingham is 4-2 overall and will take on East Side at Bowditch Field on Thursday July 1 at 7 p.m.
