NATICK – Oliva Blanchette, 92, of Natick, passed away on June 25, 2021. 

Beloved husband of Dorothy Kennedy of Natick.  Devoted father of Nicole Blanchette Kinsey and her husband James of Port Washington, NY, and Frances Blanchette and her husband Murali Haran of State College, PA.  Dear brother of Raymond Blanchette of Shelton, CT, and the late Georgette Pearson, Mariette Dube, and Normand Blanchette.  Loving grandfather of James David Kinsey, Noelle Olivia Kinsey, and Anjali Dorothy Haran.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 1 at 9 a.m.

Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 44 East Central Street (Rt. 135), Natick at 10 a.m.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment Private.  Visiting Hours Wednesday, June 30th from 4 to 8 p.m.

Dr. Oliva Blanchette is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at Boston College where he taught from 1964 through 2019. 

His significant works include The Philosophy of Being: A Reconstructive Essay in Metaphysics, and Intersubjective Philosophy of Human Existence: Reflection on Theory and Practice of Selfhood. His faith informed his life and work.
