FRAMINGHAM – Luis Lage, 85, a longtime resident of Framingham died Wednesday, June 23, 2021 following a brief illness.

Born in Soutelo-Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joaquim & Lucinda Lage, and the beloved husband of the late Maria Celina Monteiro Lage.

Luis settled in Framingham 43 years ago, where he would raise his family.

He worked at General Motors before an injury forced an early retirement.

He loved nothing more than a game of Keno, a glass of wine, a cigarette, and a good joke.

He is survived by his children, Maria, Manuel, Lucia, all of Framingham, Albino & his wife Christine of Ashland, and Lucinda Moore & her husband Kevin of Douglas, his grandchildren, Michael Mulcahy, Luis, Luciana, Shannon Lashus, Sarah Lashus, Korrie, Corinne, and Celina Moore, his great granddaughter, Audrey, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his wife Maria, Luis was predeceased by his son Luis, and four siblings.

Family and friends will honor and remember Luis’ life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, June 30 from 4-7 p.m.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverley St. Framingham at 10 o’clock.

Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.
