NORTH ANDOVER – Framingham High 2021 graduate Sophie Albright repeated as Division 1 state champion in the high jump on Saturday at North Andover High School

The senior captain on the Framingham High girls outdoor track & field team won the competition with a leap of 5-feet, 5-inches.

She will compete in the all-state meet later this month.

“Fiercely competitive, crazy talented, but away from a scoreboard one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet,” said head coach Chris Collins. “Sophie volunteers her time (which she has little of) to do things like help the unified track team and several other things that help make the world a better place.”

Collins said “on a track or High Jump mat her focus to detail is scary.

“I felt like today the other girls were trying to work out how to take second long before it had reached that end — her preparation mentally and routine-wise is intimidating to say the least,” said the head track & field college.

Albright is headed to Boston College in the fall.
