FRAMINGHAM – Sister Jeanne Marie (Margaret) Doherty, CSJ of Milton, in her 75th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston died Sunday, June 13, 2021.

  Sister Jeanne was raised in Somerville. She was the devoted daughter of the late John T. and Catherine T. (McCarthy) Doherty, Sr., beloved sister of the late Anne R, McCarthy of West Roxbury and John T. Doherty, Jr. of Marlborough; sister-in-law of the late Frank McCarthy and Robert Bent.

Sister Jeanne Marie is survived by her loving sister, Catherine (Kay) Bent of Rockland, MA; her sister-in-law, Joanne Doherty of Marlborough; many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, her Sisters in the Congregation and many dear friends. 

Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Mary School, West Quincy; St. Brendan School, Dorchester; St. Agatha School, Milton; St. Joseph School, Malden; and for more than 36 years taught at Immaculate Conception School in Everett.

Visiting hours at St. Joseph Chapel, Fontbonne Convent, Milton, MA, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 9:15 to 10 a.m.

Prayer Service at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at Fontbonne.  

Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Natick.
