FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is advertising for applicants to be one of the five license commissioners.

Chair Adam Barnosky announced last month he would be stepping down and moving out of the City.

License Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and must be approved by the 11-member City Council.

Candidates are required to be residents of Framingham, registered voters and able to pass a background check. No person while a member of the Board of License Commissioners shall have any financial interest, direct or indirect, in the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages in any form within the City of Framingham.

The appointment if for a 3-year term, although in this case it would be to complete the term of Barnosky whose term expires in June 2023.
