1 Today is MassBay Community College’s commencement. It will be held virtually.

2. CITY of FRAMINGHAM MEETINGS:

  • Framingham Board of Library Trustees at 7 p.m.
  • The City of Framingham Department of Public Works will host a virtual public meeting via Zoom on Thursday, May 27, at 6 p.m. to discuss the 75% design plans for the proposed intersection reconstruction of Edgell Road and Central Street.

3. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, she has no public events today, but she is doing at least three things so unclear if they are campaign stops or official City business.

Mayor Spicer will participate in a press conference at 9:30 a.m. with Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan to discuss the apparent homicide in the City on Tuesday morning.

Later today she will speak at a commencement ceremony for UMass Boston virtually.

And The City of Framingham and event sponsor Framingham State University will host a virtual Mental Health Event called Mental Health Declassified on from 7-8:30 p.m. Mayor Spicer is expected to attend and speak.

4. FLYERS in action:

  • Framingham boys lacrosse hosts Wellesley High at 4 p.m. at Phil Read Field
  • Girls lacrosse travels to Wellesley for a game against the Raiders at 5;15 p.m

5. In celebration of Asian-American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month, Framingham Public Library is hosting a program on Thursday, May 27 with Dr. Yumi Park Huntington on Joseon Dynasty Art and Social Structure in BTS.

Huntington will introduce attendees to BTS, the internationally-beloved South Korean boy band; examine aspects of their cultural impact; and analyze their music videos, in particular Suga’s “Daechwita” for its portrayal of the Joseon dynasty.

Juxtaposing scenes from the video with Joseon dynasty paintings, she’ll explore how aspects of history and culture are represented in different media.

The free program starts at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
