FRAMINGHAM – Police officers arrested two individuals at 4 a.m. on Sunday. May 23, on drug and firearm charges.

Police were called to the intersection of Gordon & Hollis Streets to check on two individuals in a vehicle parked on the side of the road, said Framingham Police spokesperson Sgt. Rachel Mickens.

“Further inquiry led to the officers locating a loaded 9mm handgun inside of the vehicle,” said Sgt. Mickens.

Police arrested Rosa Ortiz, 41, of 90A Second Street of Framingham. She was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with defaced serial number, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, and two counts of a possession of a Class E drug.

“Ortiz had what appeared to be a bag of heroin, a bag cocaine and prescription pills on her,” said Sgt Mickens.

Edwin Alago, 40, of 108A Beaver Park Road of Framingham was arrested an charged with assault & battery on a police officer, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent charge), and three counts of possession of a Class E drug.

“Alago had what appeared to be 2 bags of cocaine and prescription pills,” said Sgt. Mickens.
