ASHLAND – The Ashland downtown construction project begins Monday, May 24.

Water connections will be the focus for the next 3 weeks. Intermittent water shut-offs will occur.

Residents will be notified when and for how long your business or residence will be affected. Be on the lookout for a flyer and a knock on the door.

The project includes upgraded traffic signals, sidewalks, crosswalks and paving of multiple roads, including Main Street and Front Street. Trees will installed. New lights will be installed and underground the Utilities (Electric, Cable, Fiber, and others), and utility poles will be removed.

Main Street from Mill Pond Dam to Summer Street will be paved.

Front Street from main Street to about Ashland Lumber will be paved.

The contractor is P. Gioioso & Sons, Inc.

Work is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The goal is to somehow keep two lanes of traffic open at all times.   One lane of traffic will be available from time to time.

The contractor, the engineer and Town staff are well aware of how important it is to minimize blocking parking spots located in front of businesses, said the Town of Ashland.
